The centre’s minibus The centre’s minibus

transport

In 2000 we were presented with a new minibus by Allied Dunbar. This was arranged via The Mortgage Bureau who are based in Pyarts Court in Coleford. We are very grateful to Adrian Goss, Mark Monk and Stuart Tait for their interest and support.

The money for the bus was donated to the Centre via the Allied Dunbar Foundation. This was started in 1981, and was the first charity in the UK to be supported by self-employed sales people in Business Centres all across the UK. To date the Foundation has supported over 550 projects nationwide and has donated over £12.5 million to the community.

Because the Forest of Dean is a rural area, with many parts inaccessible to public transport, the Centre’s minibus is essential in ensuring all children and their families who wish to can access our services.

The minibus provides a very valuable service for our children and their families to attend the Nurture Group and Support Groups, and especially during the Holiday Activities Playscheme. The bus is an asset which the Centre cannot afford to loose.

In 2005 we were overjoyed to receive support from the following local business’s for much needed funds for the continued running of the minibus services. The bus is now adorned by their company names, so everyone can see who has supported us!

Thank you to all the following for their support in sponsoring the minibus:

  • Blue Boy Carpets
  • GSK
  • Jewsons
  • Tudor Farm House Hotel
  • Wyvern Garage/Pete Smith Car Sales
