Making A Will and Leaving a Legacy:

Legacies are particularly important for charities, and for us the revenue helps us sustain our support services. We hope that people like you, who support our work, will consider mentioning The Forest of Dean Children’s Opportunity Centre when making or updating your will.

There are 3 different types of legacy:

Pecuniary Legacy
This is a specific sum of money gifted to The Opportunity Centre, but which makes no allowance for inflation. A gift of £250 now may be worth very much less in 20 or 30 years time!
Specific Legacy
This allows you to leave items of value to The Opportunity Centre which can be used by the Charity in a manner we think fit.
Residuary Legacy
This is where you leave the balance of your estate to The Opportunity Centre when everything is taken care of.

You can insert one or more of the following options into your will:

For a Pecuniary Legacy
“I GIVE the sum of £.......... (in words - pounds) free of tax to The Forest of Dean Children’s Opportunity Centre, Bowens Hill Road, Coleford, Gloucester, GL16 8DU (Charity No. 284975)for its general purposes and I DECLARE that receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer for the time being of the Centre shall be a good discharge for the gift.”
For a Specific Legacy

For a Residuary Legacy
